Faith healing is a principle that religious faith can do actual healing by rituals or prayers. According to this faith the disciples induce the divine presence and create capacity to cure diseases and disablement in particular individuals. The concept is basically founded on the belief that “faith healing” is associated to particularly open and ritualistic practice of common worship and such gestures as laying the hands, which are said to be ask divine intercession and induct actual physical healing in the person.

Nowadays, there have been several faith healers who have boasted of their close connection with the God that they have sustained through the worship and sacrifices in their lives. They claim to have consequently made possible communication links with the Holy Spirits who work on behalf of God for the faith healers. These Holy Spirits give various gifts in different forms as gift of speech, prediction and healing. The faith healing started in America as Pentecostal movement. According to the numerous faith healers engaged in this practice in this present age, they can heal the people because of the gifts and powers given to them by the Holy Spirits and they work on this by wishes of God.

The Pentecostalism faith healing movement started from Topeka. A former Methodist curator conducted sessions there. As the saying goes, many people used to attend the meetings and conferences often. The belief says that thousands of people were cured by these faith healers. The blinds saw light, the disabled stood up and many patients were cured of their illness. So many people came for those meetings and got the Holy Spirits in them and as time progressed the power of faith healing spread across the entire country as many people started working as faith healers.

Faith healers like Smith Wiggles Worth were famous during the 20th century and traveled continents to cure the people. It is believed that these faith healers could even make the dead live by utterance of Jesus Christ’s name.

In the following years, several faith healers who numbered in thousands became overnight stars by healing the people. Aimee Semple McPherson was one amongst very popular figures in the history. She belonged to very ordinary family, but with her devotion, hard work, evangelization and worship she became a star in USA and Canada. She was rich with the gift of speech and was able to heal the people physically, but she did not pay much attention to it. Mostly, she engaged herself in delivering the speeches to create zeal in people towards more belief in God, make them more spiritual to worship God and get distracted from the material attractions in the world.

Although Aimee Semple McPherson was a gifted faith healer, she did not utilize much on it. You can find several faith healers upcoming these days. Benny Hinn was also one of the renowned faith healers, but according to him, the patient also must have faith in God for getting the results. Many amazing healings have been ascribed to innumerable methods usually regarded collectively as “faith healing.” It is impossible to comprehend the process involved in faith healing, but it is a strong belief for the years that faith healing really works and there are several faith healers in present time.

Faith Healers: Caution Necessary!

Is it possible to find healers who actually work on the basis of faith? Is it really possible to state when one holds faith on God and when one is a theist? Is that what is responsible for carrying out all those miracles? Is it possible for faith and faith healers to assure you that your ailments will be cured?

Well, that is what a faith healer is actually! They claim to have a direct connection to God that helps them learn who the believers are. With the might of their faith behind them, God can lead these faith healers really perform anything supernatural! This concept is not very new and each and every religion existing in the world over the ages has had faith healers, prophets, seers and god men who claim to be able to carry out miracles depending on the faith you have on God. But how do you learn who among the people is actually an authentic faith healer and how do you find out which one is a fake?

Over the years there have been several people who claim to be faith healers but who can actually be cheaters of the first order. The reason for this is simple as over the ages, researchers have struggled very much in order to trace out if these people are actually real and whether faith healers are indeed capable of performing anything supernatural. As a consequence the faith healer by the name of Peter Popoff was arrested on the charge of deceiving the people. He claimed to know a lot of the person who he was healing due to a direct link with God. But after some time it was revealed that the faith healer was cheating the public with the help of special mikes which he placed in his ears. He could hear the details of the person whom he was telling that he could cure. He would also claim that he had provisions for exchanging words with God. In course of time he was arrested for his crimes and none of his healing could be scientifically proved.

Another faith healer that cheated the general public was called as W. V. Grant. This healer also essayed to persuade the common people that there was nothing that he could not do. He could heal the sick and large number of American people rested faith on him without considering rationally. But later it became clear that the faith healer was making crib sheets or cheat sheets where he memorized everything he learned regarding the patient whom he claimed to cure. But he was caught when they discovered his cheat sheets in the trash after a healing session. He too was charged with deceiving the people and was arrested.

Another stratagem that researchers used was to keep their hands on the sick and when they placed hands on them; the people used to fall back in a healed stupor but eventually it was also marked that faith healers used to thrust people till they succumbed to the pressure and fell down. But nevertheless, we cannot finally conclude that all faith healers are not good! And neither can we say that they are all good! But please take caution when you meet them for treatment or healing!

Faith Healing: What You Need To Know

Faith healing is a very complicated subject. It includes the topics about the healing from the ailments only because of faith without any medicines. That means if you have faith you will be healed but what of those people who do not have faith but are still healed? We do know that the process of healing that takes place because of a combination of faith and healing can be credited to a supernatural reason called as faith healing and there is not much medicine involved in the process. There can be a strong Christian link associated with the miracles or healings that take place. But almost all religions have a strong faith healing branch where you will have to deal with people and healers who heal with different techniques like pranic healing, crystal healing, and reiki too.

Most people who believe in the process of faith healers are also people who believe in the occult and how it works. You will be able to find that Christians who read the bible have a strong inclination to believe in miracles and will be willing to follow preachers and faith healers too. This is because the bible is filled with stories about faith healers and prophets who used to heal by faith healing in the same manner and who are now revered for being saints. Christianity has also a separate branch, followers of which are the blind followers of the belief that they need no help of medical science and only faith healing is enough for them to heal all kind of illnesses.

Faith healing is good but it has proved to be dangerous for some of the blind followers who lost their kids and kin due to lack of medical treatments and have also been sued for that. This amounts to medical carelessness but there are several justified healers who have healed people and who are still around working their miracles on people all through the ages. There can also be a level of spiritual abuse too where you will find that some charlatans will propose faith healing only in an effort to cheat people of their hard earned money by exploiting their faith.

Apart from charlatans, there are also god-men in nearly every religion and cults that have sprung up around as single charismatic leaders who claim to be direct channels to God because of their faith. They try faith healing on their followers preaching this as the gift of God to them although they have no scientific reason to prove their claim. You will also find that cults and such believers will not allow doctors to treat their sick people and they will not allow the use of medicines and blood transfusions because of their faith.

But you cannot ridicule anyone’s faith. Such cases have been noticed where the sick people have recovered from severe sickness with the help of prayers and meditation only. We still don’t know how they work but for some people, prayer can actually work as a placebo reducing pain and causing healing by soothing the body and the mind. Won’t we call it faith healing?

There are lots of things which we are still unable to understand and faith healing is one of them!
