Healthy Ways To Fight The Common Cold

Winter brings more than just snow; it brings an outbreak of colds. Going to the local drug store and loading up on Nyquil and Sudafed is one way to fight a cold, but there are more natural ways too. One alternative medicine is chicken soup. There have never been any tests to confirm this, but it seems like chicken soup or broth helps you feel better and recover quickly. Also, it is important to drink lots and lots of water. You cannot drown a virus, but the water will help your immune system and help your sore throat.

Echinacea or Purple Cornflower is an herb that is rumored to help fight the cold as well. Some studies have confirmed that this helps cut the time you have your cold, and prevent you from getting other colds. You should take Echinacea immediately if you think you may be coming down with a cold. Vitamin C also will help reduce your cold’s severity, and help your immune system recover quickly. Tea is another great device for fighting a cold.
