Antioxidants and the Rusty Car

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Antioxidants protect the body. To illustrate, think about your car. Most all of us have automobiles, which we rely on to get us to where we need to go every day. We fill our vehicles with gasoline and have regular tune-ups to ensure our cars don’t let us down unexpectedly. The outward appearance of our cars can also reflect how their internal systems are functioning. That is why we protect our automobiles from rust. If you allow rust to attack, then your vehicle’s overall performance will soon be affected.

Now, think of your body as your vehicle. Free radicals, like rust on a car, will speedily deteriorate our bodies without proper defenses against them. Antioxidants are nature’s defense against free radicals. Take the necessary time to fine-tune your body with a suitable amount of fruits and vegetables so your body will benefit from the antioxidants they contain.

Healthy Treatment For Those With Disabilities

Seinfeld has an episode in which George parks his dad’s car in a handicap spot while they run into the mall. Kramer insisted on it, and they were in a hurry. When they return, his car is surrounded by a mob of people waiting to find out who parked there because a handicapped woman had been hurt because she couldn’t find a spot and had to park far away. They leave the car and hope the mob will disappear eventually. The mob does disappear, but they find the car has been completely trashed.

This likely has not happened to any of us, but almost everyone has quickly parked in a handicap spot to run into a store. Our rush could seriously hurt a person with disabilities or someone who is handicapped. We all want to help people with disabilities, sometimes we just sidestep our conscience for a moment, however, if just once something terrible happened because of our laziness, we would feel awful, not to mention be in trouble with the law.
